Diabetic sensors for Annette Prieto
Donation protected
I come to you with a heavy heart. My daughter, Annette, is in the hospital again. She's a type one diabetic, diagnosed at the age of 10, 37 years ago. She's been giving this chronic illness a good fight for a long time. The many complications that she's afflicted with include but are not limited to, neuropathy of her extremities and digestive system, gastro paresis, arthritis of her body and eyes, glaucoma, vision impairment, and more. Last year she was hospitalized 9 times, this hospitalization makes her fifth this year with the average stay of 10 days. Now with all of the above she has a blood clot and within the last two months has been battling extremely high blood sugars.
Annette has a diabetic pump but her blood sugars are so erratic that testing even every three hours doesn't seem to be enough to keep her blood from going out of control. The lows and highs are very sporadic. She's been in ICU three times within the last two months for high blood sugars.
This is what she needs, A Medtronic Constant Blood Monitoring transmitter system with sensors. The device will work in conjunction with her existing pump. This device is not covered by insurance but will monitor her blood sugar 24 hours a day. It has an alarm that will alert her if her blood sugar starts going out of control. She needs this so badly. We've been helping financially as much as possible with other expenses but need help with this. The device is $1900, and the sensors are $90 per week, thats equates to $4680 per year. We're hoping to raise $5000, which will pay for the system and sensors for nine months.
I love my daughter with all my heart, and so want this for her. Please, Please will you help me get it for her. Any amount you give will help and be so greatly appreciated. No amount is to small, everything adds up. Thank you so much.
All prayers and get-well wishes are also most definitely appreciated.
