AppD support of Ashley & Nikki
Donation protected
This campaign is to offset expenses that twin sisters Ashley and Nicole are experiencing since their life threatening accident on March 17th, 2019 that left them paralyzed. Ashley and Nicole are the nieces of AppD BVC Keith Llorens and live in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood. Their parents names are Greg and Ana Llorens who are currently caring for them at home.
Adjusting to life as a quadriplegic and Paraplegic has resulted in so many new expenses. Expenses like special eating utensils, modification to the family home (bathrooms, doorways, kitchen, bedrooms, narrow walkways, etc) to make it handicap accessible.
The family is saving for a vehicle that the parents or any guardian can use to transport both of them (two wheelchairs) to Physical / Occupational Therapy, future work or even to family events.
This campaign is specifically for AppDynamics' employees and friends who would like to help the family offset these expenses and afford Ashley and Nicole’s family assistance to speed up the process of getting to a "new normal". Ideally, we'd like to accelerate their savings for a handicap modified vehicle that accommodates both wheelchairs.
Visible expenses with this accident well exceed $100K, which is minor when considering the lifetime impact. Appreciate any support that you can provide as Ashley and Nicole adapt to their new normal as "Bad-Asses in Wheelchairs" as they now refer to themselves as they tackle this challenge head on! (See Video).
We'll plan to present the fruits of our combined support to the family in the September/October timeframe!
Feel free to learn more from the twins themselves on their Instagram Page: https://www.instagram.com/ashleynikkistory/?igshid=14iidjeub9ps8
