Askam and Ireleth Lockdown NHS fundraising
On Friday 8th May Askam and Ireleth residents decorated their houses to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE day.
We decided to use this special occasion to have a photographer visit people on their doorsteps and take images to capture this event with donations going to the NHS, specifically our local Bay hospital charity!!
For this particular event we raised £444!!!
We unfortunately lost to Dalton so our next challenge in Lockdown 2020 is art attack - hopefully we can beat them to the best town trophy in this one!!!
It's a creative crafts competition and we want you to try and use only what you have at home to do it!!
There are two design categories to enter;
1. Freehand drawing (pens, pencil, paints, crayons etc)
2. Sculptures made from items around the house
We have 3 age groups for entries within each design category;
1. Primary age
2. Secondary age
3. Adult (16+)
There will be a special 1st, 2nd and 3rd lockdown medal for each age group in each of the design categories
That's 18 winners overall!
We are asking for £5 per household for entry and 100% of the funds will be adding to the £444 we have already raised for Bay Hospital Charities!!
The competition is now open until 29th May at 5pm and judging will be made over that weekend. Dalton Community Action Group will judge Dalton entries and Lucy and I will judge Askams! All 36 winners will be announced on Monday 1st June
**** competition rules ****
Every individual in the household can enter both the drawing and sculpture categories in their age group under the £5 donation.
All entries must be posted in time, any outside of the 29th May deadline will not be included in judging.
We really want you to use only what you have at home to make it fair for families who may not be able to leave the house or are not in a position financially to buy new supplies.
We are looking for homemade and creative - get your thinking caps on, the possibilities are endless (get watching some old Art attack episodes on YouTube )
Entries will only be accepted once we have confirmed payment has been made to this go fund me page.
Once all 18 Askam/Ireleth winners have been chosen by myself and Lucy we will then ask an independent person to judge between our 18 winners and Daltons 18 winner.
There will be a trophy for the overall town
We cannot let this lockdown end without beating Dalton at least once!!!!
