Aurora - Young women diagnosed with breast cancer

Aurora Breast Cancer Wellbeing is a charitable group aimed at young women with breast cancer. We know that young women in particular have different needs to older women. For example, they may have young children with childcare needs during treatment, be in a new relationship, have busy jobs and fertility issues. The psychological impact can be huge.

As a group of healthcare professionals and young patients we provide annual seminars and dinners and urgent counselling, really helping women to cope with the higher psychological impact of a diagnosis and give them tools to empower them to rebuild themselves and their lives after treatment finishes.

Young women often feel very alone and our small community shows them they aren’t and the bonds that form are invaluable to them.
