Autism-Friendly Sensory Playground
Donation protected
Hello, Our names are Arjun Tyagi and Rishav Vignesh and we are both 8th Grade students. For the past three years, we have been working on a project as part of First Lego League 2019 (City Shaper). A significant part of this project was finding a way to improve our community and environment. During our research, we found that the parks around our hometown (South Brunswick, NJ), did not have dedicated equipment for children on the autism spectrum. We wanted to fix this issue and make parks more inclusive for all children. Our research included speaking with a few autism organizations like Autism Speaks, National Autism Association, etc., and a few therapists. These organizations and therapists all share our belief that all parks should include sensory equipment dedicated to children with autism. We request your help in raising the necessary funds to create an all-inclusive playground, by installing sensory playground equipment in parks around us. Donating to this cause will help purchase a few pieces of sensory equipment for these parks. The cost of equipment and to properly install it is extremely expensive. Any donation would be greatly appreciated! As a first step, we are looking to raise $5,000 to buy sensory equipment to be ground-mounted in one of the parks in South Brunswick, NJ.
