To accomplish great things, we must not only act but also dream. Not only dream but also believe – Anatole France
Hi, my name is Autumn Lynch-Coleman and I am a senior at Ragsdale High School. I have dreams of attending The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and majoring in Biology and further continuing my education to receive an advanced medical degree. I am most interested in the brain and how it works and what makes us do the things we do. I believe in myself to achieve these things and more. I know it will require hard work and dedication and I am up for the challenge. I understand to whom much is given, much is required. I have worked hard to maintain good grades and make good decisions that will afford me great opportunities. I am ready to continue to do the work to make college a reality. Currently I have a 4.3 GPA while working a part time job as Youth Development Leader at the Ragsdale YMCA. My job is rewarding and challenging as it entails helping younger children navigate their remote learning while helping them grow mentally, physically and spiritually. Additionally I am a member of the Varsity Softball Team, Beta Club, Culinary Club and National Honor Society. My faith keeps me grounded and I enjoy attending teen's church at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, where Reverend Dr. Cardes Brown is Pastor . Recently I received the AP Scholar Award for attaining a score of 3 or higher on (5) AP course exams. I am known for my quiet strength and kindness to all, especially children.
I am participating in the 2020-2021 Jabberwock Scholarship Program sponsored by the Greensboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated in partnership with Delta Research and Educational Foundation. Jabberwock is a fundraising scholarship pageant distinctive to Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated that has been in existence since 1925. This program allows young ladies the opportunity to raise funds for their college education while participating in educational, cultural, and service oriented activities. Jabberwock will culminate with the presentation of the contestants on April 25, 2021.
Thanking you in advance for your support in affording me the opportunity to be greater.
Humbly,
Autumn Lynch-Coleman
