BOLD’R PROJECT: Building Overt Leaders Through Diversity and Resilience
HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE:
BOLD’R is an innovative program that strives to activate young leaders by helping them to strengthen their minds and bodies through creative problem solving, mind-body awareness, yoga, and bouldering.
Our four-week program is led by a team of Austin Bouldering Project (ABP) instructors and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) advocates. Our youth participants will be guided through curated activities and climbing sessions that focus on mind-body awareness, visualization, and collaboration. We are raising money to launch this innovative program and any donation will help make an impact.
PURPOSE:
Empower teens with autonomy and improved problem solving skills
Encourage mind-body connection through climbing, yoga, and Somatic Experiencing
Foster a sense of 'self' through introspective activities
Deepen an understanding of diversity and inclusion through Subtle Acts of Exclusion (SAE)-based scenarios and group work
Train graduates of the program to become future BOLD'R facilitators
GOAL:
Our goal is to raise $13,000 for twelve BOLD'R youth participants to attend our program free of charge. Reaching our goal will make it possible for our teens to complete our training and to experience support and inclusion in the ABP community. We aim to foster young leaders who are inspired to build bridges that heal SAE within their own communities.
PRICE BREAKDOWN:
- Participants’ program fees (also includes room reservations and materials) = $1000
- Coaches’ training/program fees (also includes room reservations and materials) = $7,000
- Program developer/designer/space rental fees (over 170+ hours on BOLD'R curriculum development and design) = $2,500
- To promote access to the gym and climbing community post program- we are offering a 10-pass punch card and shoe rental for graduates of the program = $2,500
THANK YOU in advance for your contribution to this innovative program that means so much to our BOLD'R team and the ABP community.
