Our Founder,  Alena Analeigh is passionate about giving girls opportunities and creating a space for them in STEM beyond their community and this is her opportunity to do so. As a young girl Alena Analeigh was world schooled in Amman, Jordan so she understands the importance of cultural diversity. Alena's passion is to provide the same opportunity to girls that was given to her. A chance to learn and explore the world beyond their local communities. 

 

THE BROWN STEM GIRL, LLC & THE BROWN STEM GIRL FOUNDATION

Phenom. Prodigy. Whiz kid. Those are just a few of the words used to describe Alena Analeigh, who at 12-years old is in college Majoring in Mechanical Engineering, but that’s only part of her story. Now, the youngest girl of color to intern at NASA, Alena is also using her voice by launching The Brown STEM Girl and she is also the founder of The Brown STEM Girl Foundation.

From April 29-30, 2022, we will host the inaugural STEM in the City Day, an unprecedented conference created exclusively to honor women of color in the (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields.

STEM in the City is a two-day event. Day one will feature a full day of workshops and interactive sessions, in addition to a VIP Gala & Scholar Pinning Ceremony.

Day-two features STEM in the City Day at Disneyland

This entire event is designed to highlight and honor the contributions of the unsung women of color who for decades have blazed trails in the STEM fields, in addition to catapulting girls of color as the future of STEM.

Attendees will leave this event with both information and inspiration designed to guide and mentor their passion for STEM.

Part of of the Scholars Program incudes four scholars will be gifted a fully paid trip to Malaysia &  Singapore to the Art Science Museum https://www.marinabaysands.com/museum.html
