Support Our Musical About Wise Media Use
Donation protected
Please consider contributing to our effort to create a non-profit musical production for high schools and community theaters that is all about how to use digital media wisely, and not be used by it! The show's theme is about finding connections in real life.
The estimated cost for this project to come to life on stage is $15,000, and we've raised more than half of that amount already on our own, but we could use your help to get the project to the stage at a time when it is very much needed! We welcome any amount of donation as well as sponsorship or grant leads, and ideas about in-kind donations.
The project lead is a professor in the School of Communication at Western Michigan University with a book, museum exhibit, and federally-funded website about media literacy and news literacy. The musical producer is a longtime performer, producer, and songwriter who formerly ran the Kalamazoo Academy of Rock.
Artists who've already contributed their amazing musical talent at a deeply discounted rate include Jeff Moehle, Rachael Davis, J Hobbs, and Cynthea Kelley. Click the names to hear our tunes!
Other artists contracted for the musical's album include, among others, Lady Ace Boogie, Nathan Moore, Rob Cookman and Headband Henny.
We've sought and received some grant funding from Western Michigan University, the WMU School of Communication and the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo.
THANK YOU for your consideration and support. We are so grateful that you believe in this project as much as we do. Please pass along and share this need with others.
