Hello Friends and Family
We are reaching out to you to let you know our beloved (son/husband/brother/father/nephew) Mark has been ill for several months and has recently been unable to work due to his declining health. We created this Go Fund Me page to help his family pay for his medical and living expenses for the foreseeable future. While we understand many of us are in a similar predicament due to Covid-19, any support, however seemingly insignificant, is helpful and deeply appreciated.
Mark has had the blessing of his beautiful wife Anna, and their two wonderful children Sarah and Kyle to support him and help him through this difficult time at home. He has also has been dedicated to being a Chiropractor for over 25 years and has done all he can to help and heal others. This time he needs us.
Back on February 5, 2020 he posted this on FB
"Way back in JAN of 1987, 22 yo Mark exited LIJ Hospital by himself after thyroid cancer surgery and Steve Winwood’s version of this song was playing on the radio as the sun was setting and I had a moment of invitation - to let LIFE in. A few months later, I graduated SUNYA (Albany State), met Anna Ohland Filippi and went off to Davenport to attend Palmer and become a TOR...
Last night, I walked out of Montefiore Hospital around 10:15pm after surviving eight of the most intense, bizarre and terrifying days & nights of my life. Cancer is making an encore but the truth about it lies ahead. For now, sitting on my couch, pre-dawn,slowly breathing in the morning air, that moment of invitation is filling my heart again. This time Zevon’s version of that song fits better. For all those, far & wide, near & dear, who took this dark ride with me this week, I am humbled and blessed to have you."
We know these are difficult days for all of us – financially, physically, and emotionally. It's always hard to ask for help, especially when so many of our friends and family members are in need right now, too. Thank you to all the people who have been on this journey with us so far, and to those of you who are joining us now in thoughts and prayers. Your support means more than we can express. In the words of Bruce Springsteen, and those that know Mark he truly is "tougher than the rest" and like Steve Winwood expressed back in '87 we truly believe we will hear you say those same 8 words "I'll be back in the high life again"
