In Memory of our Beloved Barbara McDade (Stewart)

On Monday, February 1, 2021, we lost our beloved mother, Barbara McDade (Stewart) as a result of complications due to COVID-19. She passed away at the age of 64. Our mother was an amazing woman who tried to help everyone out the best she could.
Our mother spent countless hours helping others by volunteering at her church, helping others in need of her skill set, and so on. We could fill a book with the countless list of people she has selflessly helped, even when she did not have the means or every to do so. She was a God-fearing family woman that cared more about others than she did for herself. All who knew her, knew her kindness, love for God, her huge heart, and her generosity of spirit. Her love for everyone in her life and her selflessness was an example and model for all who knew her.
Her battle first began in December 2020 when she began to show COVID-like symptoms. She was later diagnosed with both COVID and pneumonia and was admitted to Froedtert Medical Hospital on December 11th, 2020 with shortness of breath. She was immediately placed in the ICU, and given the maximum dose of oxygen to assist her breathing and antibiotics to help with pneumonia. A few days before Christmas, she was placed on a ventilator. On Christmas Day, things were looking up as she was taken off the ventilator and put back on oxygen through a mask. She was able to talk and interact again and we were hopeful that she would soon recover and come home.
Every day we received updates from the hospital with the hopes that things would get better. However, she kept running into complications as the virus took a huge toll on her body and lungs. As a result of COVID-19 restrictions, we were unable to visit our mother at the hospital and only able to do one family video chat before things took a turn for the worse. On January 5th, she was approved to receive one designated visitor. Our sister Michelle took on that role. She visited her every day and provided opportunities for our mother to see and hear us through video chat so that we could let her know that we were here for her, that we loved her and were looking forward to her return home. Unfortunately, a few weeks later, our mother was placed back on a ventilator.
We are so grateful for our sister Michelle who has carried most of the burden of everything on her own. She found a way to make it possible for us to see our mother in person, to hold her hand, and to talk to her. We were able to have a few visits in person and prayed that she would recover after being in the presence of all of her children.
On the morning of February 1st, our sister received a terrible call that no family ever wants to receive, that our mother had passed away at 7AM from complications from COVID-19. She fought hard when she was able to, but unfortunately she did not make it. With amazing strength, our sister collected her siblings to go say one last goodbye before our mother was taken off the machines.
We are comforted in knowing that our mother, Barbara McDade (Stewart), is resting in peace in the loving arms of God. During these difficult times we want to thank everyone for their continuous support and prayers over our family. She was so loved and will be forever missed.
Please help us cover her funeral, medical, and financial expenses. Please donate any amount and share with anyone who might be able to assist us. Our family is so very grateful for every donation received during these difficult times. We ask you to please keep our family in your prayers. God bless you. Heaven gained an amazing angel for eternity.
