Help Lewis Family Rebuild After Barley Drive Fire
Donation protected
On Saturday, June 22nd a 3-alarm fire took everything from Bill Lewis and his 4 children who called Barley Drive in Wheatfield Township, Duncannon their home.
As insurance adjusters work through the painfully slow process of paperwork, claims, and determinations, the Lewis family is left to find a new normal.
The family isn't entirely sure what this new normal will look like and no one can really, nor do we know what the timeline will be for insurance to have the home razed and rebuilt - but that's usually about a year and a half, give or take.
Until then, there is short term housing to be found, and a lot of makeshift things to pull together until items can be secured and needs are really known. So many things come up that you can't even think of when you're away from home - and a myriad more when you don't have a home to come back to anymore...and have four children who lost everything as well.
Imagine you're one of the Lewis children ages 6, 9, 11, and 13 years old - and you've lost your toys, your bedroom, your bed, your stuffed animals, it's all gone...
Your donation today will help the Lewis family to bridge the gap between today and their 'new normal' - things like meals, shoes, toys, and any immediate clothing or emergency needs they face during this time.
Every little bit helps.
