Welcome the Battee Family & Help Them to Settle in the USA
Donation protected
Many people around the world stood with the Battee Urgessa family, both morally and with financial contributions, in the face of their immediate loss when Battee was killed on April 9, 2024. He had emerged as a prominent, respected, visionary voice advocating for the political and human rights and well-being of Oromo as well as all peoples in Ethiopia. We now celebrate the news that Battee’s family has safely arrived in the United States.
The purpose of this fund raiser is to assemble resources to assist the family in their transition to a new life in America. Battee and his wife were raising four children together aged 12 to 4 years – a son and three daughters – and they were expecting a fifth child at the time of his sudden death. That child was born in July, a healthy baby boy. Battee’s widow now faces the task of providing for five children in a country where challenges and expenses, especially housing, can be staggering. These funds will let them know that they are not alone. Community members and people of goodwill everywhere who are willing to help Battee’s family establish a firm financial footing in America are invited to contribute.
Contributions can also be made via: Bank Transfer – Battee Family Support, Bank of America Account No. 226003260919; Routing no. 054001204, 0260009593 (wires)
Thank you for your donation and for investing in the future of this family. Through them the legacy of Battee Urgessa lives on.
