Sewing for the NHS
Donation protected
We are a group of volunteers, based in Harpenden and South Beds, working as part of the national effort to make scrubs and gowns for the NHS. We have lots of willing volunteers keen to make PPE for the Doctors, Nurses and Social Care workers during this COVID-19 crisis.
The reason so much PPE is needed is because: supplies are limited given the global crisis; staff need to change more frequently; the staff who do not usually wear scrubs now need to as part of their PPE; all clothes worn in a clinical setting need washing at 60 degrees and of course, extra staff have been recruited who have no uniforms. So more are needed until the normal suppliers can catch up with the massive increase in demand.
We have lots of capacity to make scrubs etc, but urgently need more funding to buy the fabric etc - so please help us now.
In the unlikely event we have do not use all the money we will donate it to an NHS charity related to fighting COVID-19.
