Beirut Stay Strong

We are filled with grief and shock following the massive explosion that took place at Beirut’s port on August 4, 2020. The explosion led to the devastating destruction in multiple neighbourhoods, where hundreds lost their lives and thousands were left injured and without homes or necessities. In addition, over the past few months Lebanon has also been suffering through severe economic turmoil as well as the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rotaract is a social organisation for young professionals with a presence in 184 countries and 11,000 clubs, which share the same vision and work together to create positive change in their local communities and around the world. Rotaract is member of Rotary International.
We invite Rotarians, Rotaractors and friends around the world to contribute to the Disaster Relief Fund for Lebanon which will be administered by Rotaract Clubs of Lebanon for the purpose of helping those affected and rebuilding the beloved city of Beirut.
Rotaract District 2452 (District of 9 countries including Lebanon) in collaboration with Rotaract Mediterranean MDIO are fundraising through this Disaster Relief initiative to support Lebanon. The Rotaractors of Lebanon who have been on the ground since the start of the disaster are assessing the needs and helping; will administer all the funds raised.
Your contribution will go towards renovating and rebuilding damaged houses in neighbourhoods affected by the explosion from something as small as a bag of cement or concrete to help rebuild the structure to supplying them with new glass for their windows that were shattered. Not only will your donations help in rebuilding the city but it will also provide basic needs to people affected by the explosion.
We will be updating you on a regular basis about the status of our campaign; as well as how your contributions have helped the people of Beirut.
This fundraising campaign could have not been made without the support of Rotaract Mediterranean MDIO (represented by Astrid Durand-Viel) and the support of Rotary District 1760 (represented by the District Governor Jocelyne Le Gall). With their help, we are able to transfer the funds directly to the Rotary Lebanon Association and Lebanese Rotaractors. Those same Rotarians and Rotaract volunteers are working on the ground since the disaster to offer support to those in need but also cleaning and fixing buildings affected by the explosion.
All our updates will be posted on our Facebook page so stay tuned and like the page. https://www.facebook.com/BeirutStayStrong
