Bhagavan Das's Healing organized by Amulya Maa

Donation protected

May 17 2020, is my beloved Bhagavan Das's 75th Birthday!

I've established this Go Fund Me to support me in assuring that Baba Bhagavan Das's healing needs and comfort will be met in upcoming months, and within 2-3 weeks I need to find a home for him to land in that is in service to his physical limitations. When I told him I'm doing this for his birthday he cried the sincerest tears of gratitude and said, "Thank you Amulya for always taking care of the details, that's the best birthday gift of my life!"

SO, I ask you all to join me in offering Baba the best birthday gift of his life!

Thank you in advance for supporting us in his healing journey.

Here is some of the history:

On February 20, 2020, my sweetheart Baba Bhagavan Das was run over by an SUV. He stayed in the hospital and Rehab hospital for a total of 3 weeks, with me sleeping on the chair by his side, as the medical team tended to his many wounds and injuries- including, but not limited to- multiple pelvic fractures and a fibula fracture that inhibited his ability to stand or walk.

On March 12, Baba was released from Rehab hospital, wheelchair bound, and we returned home to our fur babies with regular physical therapy sessions scheduled to progress his healing. The earliest appointment was 1.5 weeks out, but before that time, his appointments were canceled due to COVID-19 regulations.

On March 25 he fell and around that time I noticed his body seemed a bit weaker, despite that he'd been continuing his at home PT exercises. Several days later he fell a second time, and the overall weakness increased dramatically leading up to March 31, when he was readmitted to the hospital. We learned that a very severe infection had spread throughout his system - rooted deeply in the pelvis fractures from the SUV accident. The infection was serious and has taken many weeks to clear. He was put on a long term IV antibiotic treatment, which is currently still in progress.

This time his hospital stay was a 6-week marathon - a little bit of progress each day, with challenges and set-backs arising along the way. Each day I poured prayers, mantras, affirmations, love his way, along with medical advocacy. It was a very tender and long stint for both of us, with several COVID-19 circumstances complicating an already challenging reality.

Gratefully, a couple days ago he was transferred back into Rehab for more extensive daily therapy. He's very happy to be out of the hospital! However, the systemic infection and lying in a hospital bed for so long has significantly regressed his set-point for physical therapy. He needs to re-establish his strength again. We expect he'll be in Rehab for 3 weeks, give or take dependent on progress.

Before Baba is discharged from Rehab, we'll need a rental that is sufficiently designed for his healing. We need a spacious, wheelchair-accessible one-level rental with a walk-in shower and without stairs - in a more convenient location to gather resources to care for him, as well as for calling in home health care workers and PTs. We'll need to be sure we can purchase all the necessary equipment and additional services to assist his healing. We do not yet know if this space will be furnished or not, so that might come into play. We’ll also need space for supportive visitors, as these past few months it's become clear that I cannot do everything alone with his current level of dependency and physical needs. SO, when Baba is discharged from Rehab we'll call in added support from family, friends & caregivers. Ohana will be much appreciated as this journey unfolds.

Your generous donation will help us secure the new rental space and our living expenses while Baba's heals during the course of the upcoming months. This is very important and time sensitive, as we need a new place for him to land in just a few weeks. We greatly appreciate the offerings that were made to us when the accident first happened, thank you! And, we now we see that to make it through this long-term healing trajectory we are indeed in need of additional support - both financially and energetically.

Baba is totally committed to getting well and is inspired to heal fully! Each day he assures me that he is healing. He says that we still have a lot of loving, living, creating and devotional offerings to share together. He says he sees things so clearly now and is excited to merge our insights from this deep passage we've been walking with the world through our first book together. Indeed, we are tuned into the beautiful silver lining that lights up this challenging and tenuous journey we've been walking.

Our latest mantra: The Best is Yet to Come.

Thank you in advance for your Love, Prayers and Support!
Thank you for your generous & heart-filled donation, no matter the size!
Please SHARE this page far and wide, as we're hoping to raise adequate funds within the next 1-2 weeks.

We offer up our hearts and prayers to the well-being of all sentient beings who are suffering during these challenging times.
