Birmingham Lions go to the Superbowl

Birmingham Lions are going to the Superbowl (virtually of course in these times of Covid-19!)
Superbowl 55, Sunday 7th February 2021 will be in Tampa Bay, Florida at the home ground of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and as a club we are going to join together and swim, run, walk, cycle the total distance there, and maybe even back again, during the months of November, December, January and the start of February in a bid to raise funds for the club to support us in the coming years.
The Birmingham Lions Academy are a well-established American Football programme in the Birmingham area and are the most successful Midlands based team across the last 5 years with regular visits to the National Playoffs and Finals at the Youth and Junior Level; both age groups have earned regional and national titles in the last 3 years. We need to buy 40 sets of kit (including helmets and pads) at a cost of £200 per set, so we need to raise £8000. This kit will then last us for 5 years before needing to be replaced. So, we need your sponsorship to get us kitted out for the 2021 season.
According to Google the distance from Birmingham to Tampa Bay Florida is 4304 miles and with a potential player roster of 100 players that would mean we all need to cover 43.04 miles during November and December. That sounds easy doesn’t it. So, we are aiming to get there and back again! As well as raising the much needed funds for the club, this will also ensure that we start the new season in the best physical shape that we can and hopefully give us the edge over our competitors!
