Bistro V Employee Relief Fund

To our beloved customers,
First I would like to say that I hope all of you are home safe and healthy during this tragic time. As you all know, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Bistro Versailles (versaillesgreenwich.com) and Meli-Melo Creperie & Catering (melimelogreenwich.com) have been forced to switch to a temporary takeout and delivery model of business. This has resulted in most of our hourly and salaried employees to be laid off without notice due to the temporary suspension of our in-house dining.
It is very sad for me to think that all of our longtime employees are unclear if and when they will all return to work and we as business owners are not making ends meet by only providing takeout and delivery. I can't believe that after building this business and dedicating my life to my work that we've come to this.
For over 25 years both Meli-Melo and Bistro V have served the Greenwich community, every day we've worked to feed our customers delicious and healthy meals. Our hard-working employees have developed strong relationships with many of our regular customers. It is very hard to explain how it feels to be unable to do what we love on a regular basis and see the people we care so deeply about. Our employees and our customers are considered family to us and this time is very challenging for all of us.
To best support the staff (we call family) we've created a relief fund that will help our team temporarily navigate during this difficult situation. These funds will be divided up among our employees according to our current points system and will be used to help those at both of our restaurants who will face significant hardship. Please find it in your heart to help our employees and help the sustainability of our beloved family restaurants. These funds will support more than 50 individuals and families in our local community.
Anything you can do to help support and share this message is greatly appreciated, no amount is too small. I believe in the Greenwich community and we are doing everything we can to get back to work and serve you all as soon as possible. We know that, with your support, we will be back stronger than ever once this unfortunate situation is behind us.
Thank you in advance for your generous support and I look forward to seeing you all soon.
Sincerely,
Marc Penvenne and the Bistro V team (kitchen) Pedro Sifuentes, Eduardo, Merino, Dilam Osorio López, Werlyn jJoel Cortez Salguero, Katerin Vargas, Carlos Espinoza, Carlos Reyes, Carolina Reyes, Sous Chef, Nereo Dela Cruz Garcia, Chef Miguel Díaz.
