Air quality levels have plummeted, reaching hazardous AQI levels above 400, forcing schools to close and children to stay indoors.
The Bolivian government has declared a national emergency, and while they are working to coordinate international assistance, the volunteer firefighters—Bolivia’s true heroes—are tirelessly battling these blazes day and night with limited resources.
