Hello friends and family,
Can you imagine being 7 months pregnant with your second child and finding out that your husband has cancer?
Many of you have heard and are already lifting up my sister Joy and her husband Doug in prayer. Last week Doug, after having a lump checked out in the side of his neck, received the devastating news that he has cancer of the neck and head. This Friday he will have a pet scan to hopefully determine the origin of the cancer. January 30th, he will have an extremely invasive and "radical neck dissection." Doug will likely have a feeding and breathing tube after this surgery. A week later, February 6, he will have a second surgery to "blast the cancer cells." All of this will take place at the University of Penn and God has blessed them with an amazing surgical team and cancer specialist.
Most of of you know that Doug and Joy have a 20 month old little boy and they are expecting another baby boy in late March. Joy is also considered high risk in this pregnancy.
I can not even imagine the amount of stress that this is causing in there lives. I'm not only asking for your prayers, but I'm asking if you are able to help in any way possible financially to lighten the burden while Doug is out of work and Joy faces maternity leave after being out of work to care for Doug.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit this page and for praying for this family. Will you please help by making a gift right away?
