Bonnie's GBM Brain Tumor Battle

Many of you know Bonnie and David’s story. Or, maybe you don’t. Imagine you are living in your own version of Paradise: sun and sand all around, the man you love by your side and your 3 rescue kitties to complete the family. Then, one day, out of nowhere, a seizure changes the course of your life. Suddenly, the path you were once blissfully traveling has changed to a dark, scary and unknown trail that leads to an uncertain future. That uncertain future comes in the form of Bonnie’s diagnosis of Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) last May. The past nine months have been filled with chaos, doctor’s visits, travel to and from Chemo and Radiation treatments, more doctor’s visits, prescriptions that would be enough to supply more than 100 people, time out of work for David, Bonnie now unemployed and unable to drive and, worst of all, pain. Pain from the pressure from the tumors, pain from the effects of the chemo, pain from the medications that are supposed to help.

I share all of this with you in hopes that you will help spread their story. We’d never heard of GBM until Bonnie’s diagnosis, but it seems it’s not as rare as once thought. It seems now that every time we share the truth of Bonnie’s new reality, we discover that GBM is far more common than we anticipated. I would not wish this diagnosis on anyone. But my family has been chosen to endure it. There is a reason, and we don’t see it, not yet. But God Above must think that we are all strong enough to handle this.
