Boquillas Summer Fundraiser

If you have ever been to Boquillas, then you have probably eaten at Jose Falcon's restaurant. With the hot summer approaching, the restaurant wants to install a sustainable source of electricity through solar panels. One of the major expenses of these solar panels are the batteries, costing around $300 each (Trojan batteries - model L16H-AC for anybody that is curious). The project plans call for 8 of theses batteries, which is what the fundraiser will cover. This will allow Jose Falcon's Restaurant (now run by his daughter Lilia) to store vegetables and cheese, which require refrigeration.


Installing these solar panels is one of the many steps towards improving the economy and lives of the local Boquillas people.
