Braxton's Battle

Donation protected
At just 7-years-old, Braxton is showing this world what true bravery looks like!

On Wednesday, August 9, 2023, our little Braxton man was diagnosed with Leukemia after noticing symptoms that started at football practice. His parents, Quincy and Ashlee Terrell, took him to the emergency room after symptoms persisted and Braxton was immediately transfer by ambulance to Cook Children’s Hospital. At Cook, the Terrell family were given a devastating Leukemia diagnosis. While Braxton is being the bravest little man imaginable, this diagnosis is already taking a large toll on the Terrell Family.

Braxton was set to start 2nd grade this August; however, this diagnosis has turned his world upside down and returning to school is not an option at this time. Braxton is a very bright and social little man. He loves to talk, play sports, cheer on the Cowboys & Mavericks, build with Legos, annoy his older siblings and like any other 7-year-old, he loves video games. He is very close with his siblings as well as his grandparents and cousins back home in Wichita Falls, Texas. This time has been exceedingly difficult for Braxton to be away from his family, who have always been such a constant source of support in his life. The family is struggling with the distance as the older siblings are home to start the school year while Braxton remains in Fort Worth for his chemotherapy treatment.

Braxton is the youngest of three children with an older brother and sister. His parents have already started having to make the most difficult decisions that parents can imagine. It was decided that Quincy must return to work to support the family while Ashlee will remain with Braxton in Fort Worth for treatment. Quincy became a nurse in 2021 in response to the 2020 pandemic. When Quincy graduated and started working as a nurse, Ashlee jumped in to start nursing school as well. Ashlee graduated from nursing school just 5 days before Braxton’s heartbreaking diagnosis. Ashlee remaining with Braxton at Cook for his chemotherapy treatment, while necessary, is already starting to impact the Terrell Family.

Please help us stand strong with Braxton and the Terrell Family as they face the long road ahead. While there is only so much that we, as loved ones, can do, we know that our voices have power. And we hope that we can use our voices to help bring support to this loving family in their time of need. Braxton is a strong little dude, but anyone going through a challenging time can use the support of others. Help us boost his confidence and make him feel so loved by showing support in any way that you can. All forms of support are appreciated. Let us show Braxton some love!
