Breanne’s Battle with Metastatic Thyroid Cancer

Breanne was first diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer in November 2022. She was considered “cancer free” after the successful removal of her thyroid gland. Fast forward to October of 2023, when she starting having lower back pain. The pain so severe, it made her fall down the stairs. After an MRI, the reason for the pain was clear. A compression fracture between L4 and L5 vertebrae; caused by a tumor approximately 2.24 in x 1.37 in. After a painful biopsy, Metastatic Thyroid Cancer was confirmed.

Breanne is 36 years old; a wife and mother to 3 beautiful boys. She has been an Ulcerative Colitis warrior since 2010 and is no stranger to chronic illness. However, she has been unable to work since the holidays due to the extreme pain. Her current treatment plan has not been finalized, but will require frequent scans to monitor progression. It is yet unknown if she will require both chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
