Keeping It Clean for Brent
Donation protected
Brent Whelan was diagnosed with leukemia this last summer. He went through extensive testing and then chemotherapy. It was determined that the best chance to cure this was through a bone marrow transplant. The search went out and the oncology team recommended a stem cell/cord blood transplant. He endured two of these procedures, but they were unsuccessful. His children, Robby and Rachel were tested, and the results showed that Robby was an excellent match! Brent completed the bone marrow transplant from Robby on October 25th.
We are happy to say that Brent is engrafting and recovering, and the family is planning his homecoming, hopefully within the next week!! Due to his strict dietary restrictions, they are not able to accept meals at this point.
But, the house will need to be kept clean and sanitized. Gosia, with Helping Hands Maid Services (helpinghandsmaidservices.com), right here in Elmhurst, has graciously donated the first three cleanings, starting 11/13/17. But the house will need to be cleaned weekly, and this costly maintenance should continue for at least another twelve weeks (100 days!).
Please consider making a donation to the Whelan Family today!
Thank you !!
