In loving memory of Brigid Curtin, January 8, 2006 – December 17, 2018
“Friends of Brigid Curtin at Westmoor Park” seeks to raise funds for an new outdoor classroom at the park Brigid loved so much. Brigid died tragically in December of 2018 and the new outdoor classroom will help honor Brigid’s memory.
Westmoor Park – Brigid’s home away from home. Brigid loved all the park has to offer, participating in every farm and nature program during the summer and school vacation weeks.
She loved working with the animals (even cleaning their stalls!), but Brigid especially loved the independence the park provided her and the relationships she developed with all the campers, counselors and instructors.
Brigid was looking forward to becoming a Counselor-In-Training one day, paying it forward and creating wonderful experiences and memories for the next generation of campers.
When we learned of the effort to raise funds for a three-season outdoor classroom and shelter at the park, we believed this would be a special way that we could help honor Brigid’s memory.
And that is exactly what the classroom will do, provide a much needed outdoor structure that will enhance the park’s programs that Brigid loved so much. She would have been so excited to see this addition to the park. Stop by Westmoor and visit sometime – you will love the beauty and tranquil nature of the park. And think of Brigid if you do.
