Help us raise money to pay for a new place to live

Hi, my name’s Cynthia, my husband(going on 21 yrs)Bruce is a bilateral amputee, both of his legs were amputated due to MRSA infections, he spent 2 months in rehab after the second one in 2018, the first was in 2016. He’s also had 4 different brain surgeries, due to fluid on his brain. His doctors told his parents when he was born that he would never walk, and wouldn’t live past his 10th birthday! He proved them wrong on both points, he has never let his disability get in the way of him trying to live a “normal” life. This man has more courage and fortitude than anyone I’ve ever met. He was told he would never graduate high school, but he did! He even went to college sporadically because of his disability. And through it all he never complained, he says “complaining won’t change the situation, so just keep pushing yourself to get through things”. He was also diagnosed with Alzheimer’s/dementia in 2016, and is declining right in front of me. He’s such a good guy, loves his family and friends, and I just want to take him away for a vacation, before he completely loses his cognition. He’s been housebound since 2019(March) with multiple pressure sores, had 4 different skin grafts on each one, and they still haven’t helped it. He gets so frustrated because he can’t help fix it! I just wanted to take him for a vacation ,away from all the health issues he’s had to endure, and see him smile again. He will be 55 in June(I know much too young to have the Alzheimer’s/dementia diagnosis, but he seems to be dealing with it on a day to day basis. Please help me bring a little joy into his life. Thank you all, God Bless all of you. (I started this fundraiser while he was in Mass General Hospital, in a medically induced coma, from a pulmonary embolism. and they were slowing down the machines to see if he could stay alive himself without the help of machines. I will never forget the phone call from the Nurses station at ICU saying "he just opened his eyes and is responding to yes and no questions by blinking once for yes and twice for no" I wanted to take him home that day I was so happy!!! It's been a long road... and I finally decided to put this up, while he’s been in the hospital and multiple rehabs/nursing home facilities, our apartment developed toxic mold in the wall from a broken pipe, and the owners can’t afford to get it fixed, plus it’s not handicapped accessible, so he couldn’t go back there anyways,we need to find the money to fix all these issues, so he can finally get to come home. I’m also hoping I can take him away, he wants to go to Vermont where we went for one of our anniversaries about 15 years ago. It was beautiful... He deserves a vacation, since we haven't been anywhere in over 10 years for fear of not being near Mass General Hospital. I'd like to take him away and have a nice break from all of this stuff. He was recently(October ‘22)cutoff from his disability check, and we’re not sure when he’ll get it back , Thank you for listening to me. I so appreciate all of you, Cindy
