Michael J. Buras, Nellis Memorial
SrA Michael J. Buras was born in Tifton, Georgia in 1987, and joined the Air Force at the age of 18. In 2007, he was assigned to the 99th Civil Engineer Squadron, as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. On 21 September 2010, while on his third combat tour, SrA Michael J Buras was killed in action.
The Nellis Explosive Ordnance Disposal Flight is raising funds to have a memorial built in his honor. The memorial will be placed in the main hallway of the 99th Civil Engineer Squadron compound. All money raised over the required amount will be donated to the "I Got This" Scholarship, which was established by his father in honor of SrA Michael J Buras.
