A Family’s Plea for Support After Tornado Destroys Home
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Casey Burkhart, and I am a single mother to my two amazing children, Kylee (14) and Jaxon (6). On February 6, 2025, a tornado tore through our community and completely destroyed our home, leaving us with almost nothing. We lost not only our house but nearly all of our belongings—only a handful of items were salvageable. To make matters worse, we did not have insurance to help us recover from this tragedy.
This has been absolutely devastating for our family. We are now starting over from scratch, in urgent need of basic necessities and a roof over our heads. I have always taken pride in being independent, but right now, I have no choice but to ask for help.
Donations will go directly toward securing emergency shelter, as I’ve had to sleep in my car since the disaster. Funds will also help us purchase food, clothing, and other essentials. If we are fortunate enough to raise more, it would bring us one step closer to finding a new home and rebuilding our lives. I promise to share updates on how every donation is used so you can see the impact of your kindness.
I know that times are tough for so many people right now, and I completely understand that not everyone can give. But if our story touches you, any amount—big or small—would mean the world to us. Even if you can’t donate, sharing our story or offering resources would be an incredible help.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, generosity, and support. You are giving us hope when we need it most.
