Our daughter "C" has been diagnosed with epilepsy. When she has a seizure they are prolonged and very traumatic on her. Our Neurologist encouraged us to get a seizure assistance/alert dog so we can get emergency medication into her body that will shorten the seizures and help her recover her full facilities faster when they subside.
Eevee the Service Dog will be trained to notify "C" as well as an adult around "C" that she is about to have a seizure with an alert, a paw touch, it will then make her sit down, and it will lay over get body to help protect her during her seizure. Eevee has also been trained to recognize scents present on " C" in the moments before she becomes incapacitated. We are working with a very accomplished trainer that has agreed to train our Aussiedoodle, Eevee, for us from an accomplished breeder (Australian Shephard/Poodle). Obviously, raising and training a service dog comes at a large cost, about $400 a month for 18-24 months for just the training. We know that this will greatly improve her quality of life as well as prepare her for school in the near future. If you can find it in your heart to help this special little girl we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your consideration and sharing.
