Helping with Triple Negative Breast Cancer costs

Donation protected
First Thank you for reading my GoFundMe Page! My name is Cindy (Magley) Goodrich and on October 1, 2020 I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer Stage II. This was just 10 months after losing my father to Congestive Heart Failure (Charles Herbert Magley JR. ). The cancer requires me to undergo 20 weeks of Chemotherapy.  The chemo could destroy my ability to have children, thus I would like to save my ability to have children.

I am asking for 600 people to donate just $30 dollars. When people ask me what they can do to help, donate $30.

Here is my story!

I am 39 years old, A front Line Medical Worker, that works as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) activities associate at a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Michigan. I have spent the last 20 years working in the medical field as a CNA/Phlebotomist working weekends, holidays and taking care of other peoples sick and dying family members to provide them the comfort they need. I have always wanted children, but have been waiting till the time was right.  Coming up on 40, I have been trying to have a child.  Instead of finding out I was pregnant I found out I had breast cancer.

I have tried to start my own family in the past. I have had two pregnancies that never made it to term.  Now because of my age and undergoing chemotherapy it is possible that without medical help I might never be able to have children of my own. I would really like to have children of my own, the egg retrieval and storage process will cost just under $15,000.  As a front-line worker, this is almost 50% of my yearly income.

My husband was teaching cybersecurity and law at a local community college, however due to COVID-19 and budget cuts he was let go.  We had his insurance, but now we are only on my insurance which does not cover a lot of my medical expenses.

Expenses that I am looking at in the next month.

-          $13,200 total for Egg Retrieval:

o   $7,000 Retrieval

o   $3,800 Biopsy and Assisted Hatch

o   $1,700 PGT-A Testing

o   $600 Cryopreservation and Second Year Storage

o   $700 FDA Testing

-          $2,500 for In Network Medical deductible

-          $1,000 Genetic Testing for BRAC1/BRAC2

In the past three weeks I have had:

-          2 Biopsy’s

-          3 Mammograms

-          2 MRI’s

-          3 ultrasounds

-          1 Port Placement surgery for Chemo Treatments

Asking for help like this is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do, but this is my last chance to have a child.
