Christ Lutheran Flood Recovery
Donation protected
Christ Lutheran Church of Desert Hot Springs is a small congregation in a city that is striving to make a positive difference in the lives of its citizens.
Thursday, November 2, 2016 dawned with a beautiful sunrise over the desert...but no one realized that through the night the main sewer line had clogged and 2 inches of water had backed up into the newly built church on Pierson Blvd.
Barely two years old, the building has suffered substantial water damage that has necessitated removal of new carpet, opening up of walls to prevent mold, and loss of new cabinetry in the office wing and kitchen.
Many people have asked how they can help! What a tremendous blessing their generosity of spirit has been to this mostly senior congregation who has been struggling financially to provide a Lutheran presence in this community for future generations.
With the insurance deductible and costs of additional items not covered by insurance well beyond their capability to fund solely on their own, Christ Lutheran is asking for help from their neighbors in the Coachella Valley and beyond.
Thank you for your generosity - whether is a "widow's mite" or given from your abundance. Every gift is valued and greatly appreciated. Having the funds available quickly is crucial to moving forward with recovery and restoration efforts.
Any donation that you make is tax-deductible, so let them know if you need a receipt and one will be sent to you at the end of the year.
For project updates, please check the church website at https://www.dhschristlutheran.org
If you have further questions about Christ Lutheran or how you can benefit from their ministry, please contact Pastor Paul Miller or Dave Nunn, Business Manager.
God Bless You,
