R. Cade Vergne - Rememberance

Cade (R.I.P.) As we mourn his loss, I can only share with you, who he was, how he lived. Cade was born on June 5, 1998. He was one of the first students to attend Arroyo Grande High School Special Education class. Cade enjoyed going to school and being part of the Lucia Mar Unified School District students and loved all his teachers and aides. Cade was diagnosed with Chromosome 8p; 12 duplication. Secondary to Seizures, Macrocephaly, Global Developmental Delayed, Cognitive Impairment, Scoliosis, Hypotonia, OCD, Bi-Lateral Foot Deformities and at the latter part of his life, Cancer in the Brain, Groin, Hip, Lung and Kidney. Cade enjoyed; listening to Bruno Mars songs; the Motorhome; Walking on the Beach; Playing with his dog Charlize; Coloring; Singing; Watching iCarly; Jake and Josh; enjoyed long drives with Mom and most of all year-round Christmas. Cade became an Advocate for Rare Genetic Diseases early on. During his school tenure, he was not able to talk. His IEP's a contract between the school and parent were lengthy and long. As he struggled Mom knew she had to be hands-on for his educational needs as well as, fight for services. At the age of 17, he began talking while watching the movie the Life of Pi.
