Calday Grange Swimming Pool Trust

Calday Pool is a registered charity (Charity No. 1056069) formed in September 1996, by a group of Pool Users, to take over the running of the pool after the Local Authority’s decision not to renew its lease. The pool is a small, community-driven facility which is hired out to numerous groups and clubs from the local area for various activities as well as being used for primary school and Calday Grammar School swimming sessions as well as offering RLSS UK Lifeguard Courses, and Swim England Swim Teacher Training. It is one of the Wirral's longest operating Swimming Pools, having been built initially as an open-air pool by Calday Grange Grammar School students in 1922.
With many leisure centres across the nation closing due to the lasting impact of covid, as well as the energy prices going up, we have decided to start a 'GoFundMe' page, to try and raise money for the pool. We are hoping that this will contribute to our up-and-coming renovation plans, which include better disability access, as well as the rising cost of energy prices, which has hit the leisure industry hard this year. The pool is much loved by all users, both young and old alike, and we hope that with your help we can not only continue to keep offering this wonderful facility but improve it for future generations so that in a time when leisure centres are closing left right and centre, we can carry on providing the means for our customers to maintain their physical and mental wellbeing as well as teaching people of all ages one of the most important life skills - swimming.
Thank you in advance. Any donations would be greatly appreciated!
