Church Camp Inagehi: Septic or Bust

Camp Inagehi: Church of Christ Church Camp :
To those who are friends, family, or have been impacted by the community and relationships from Camp Inagehi,
Douglas County, GA is requiring our camp to spend in excess of $20,000 for totally removing and reinstalling a new septic system for the girls bath house as we accommodate 70+ girls at a time. Without this fix, Camp will not be eligible to open the second (2nd) week of June for our females camp goers and thus will greatly diminish the impact and influence of Camp itself. We are in dire need of your help on such short notice and pray you have the desire and ability to help these children this summer!

From the President of our Board:
"Greetings and hope you are having a blessed day. As you know Camp Inagehi has been serving children since 1954.
This year we have been forced to turn our focus on an infrastructure improvement, rather than the typical aesthetic improvement. The task before us is the Girl's Village Bathhouse septic system. The cost of this mandated upgrade from the County is now estimated to be in excess of $20,000. After 60 years of use and "band aid" type repairs that have served their purpose, there is no questions of whether we can wait for this; it is time.
You may be asking, "Why would a septic system cost $20,000?" I know I certainly did! These costs are due to the requirements that Douglas County has put on the project. When setting the minimum requirements for our project, the county based their volume projections on our Girl's Village maximum capacity of 70 people using the Bathhouse.... all at one time! Though this is an impossible scenario, this means they are requiring us to install an excessively large system with two seperate field lines (leach beds). This has required the need on our part to now clear cut a significant part of our heavily wooden areas that surround our camp. The county is also requiring us to install an expensive pumping system even though everything grading shows it should all naturally run down hill.
The saying, "You can't fight City Hall" has rung true in our case. We have worked diligently to decrease the requirements put upon the camp with very little success, and there is no more time to delay in fighting.
As you know, Camp Inagehi relies on donations to keep the gate open from season to season; covering the costs of utilities, insurance, maintenance, and facility improvements to name a few. There are no paid employees, only dedicated Christian volunteers from churches around the metro-Atlanta area. Therefore, all monies donated go directly to maintaining the Camp.
Simply put, we desperately need your help to cover the cost $20,000.00 for this project. We are now reaching out to all friends and family of Camp, and even those who have had a son, daughter, niece, nephew, or grandchild impacted by Camp. We realize that you may have helped in the past, or paid for a few of your own family to attend, but at this time we are asking you to be the reason why hundreds more children will have the opportunity this summer to learn more about their faith, create new and inspiring friendships, and grow into the exemplary Christian men and women this great nation needs right now!
All donations are tax-deductible and you are always welcome to inquire for more information.
If you have any questions about this project please feel free to reach out to any of our board members or project coordinator, "Ms. Pat" Hoisington at [phone redacted].
As we look towards another great summer, we continue to solicit your support and prayers. A sincere Thank You in advance for your assistance with this urgent matter,
Greg Nash, President of the Board of Directors
