Story of Caprice Obryant

Donation protected

On 8/2/2007 at 14, Caprice was in a major car accident that left her unable to walk because of a diagnosed traumatic brain injury. The driver lost control of the car, they went head on into a tree and the roof of the jeep caved into her head. Due to Caprice's impaired cognitive abilities she also had to relearn daily activities like writing, reading outloud and making a sandwich. She did extensive physical, speech & occupational therapy over the course of 6 months as she relearned to walk.

Then, on 8/9/2010, She was in another car accident that re-aggravated her brain injury and she began to have grand Mal seizures. Caprice was having 2-3 seizures a day and was sent on an academic medical leave from The University of Dubuque for her safety.

Then on 6/18/12, while in class she had a seizure and hit her head leaving her with retrograde amnesia completely unaware of the first 19 years of her life.

Her struggle with depression, anxiety, and weight fluctuations drove her to want to help others stay healthy! Caprice started training clients out of her one bedroom apartment where she founded her personal training business. She is now the owner of Excuse Free Fitness, Inc. and an indepedent contractor at a personal training studio. But there is no place like your own :) Caprice has helped countless men and women reach their fitness goals and get back into the best shape of their life! She strives to open the doors of Excuse Free Fitness summer 2015 in the south suburbs of Chicago offering personal, group training and nutrition services. Her vision for this facility is to be designed to eliminate every excuse from everyone that walks through the doors and give them a place to be themselves and have fun on their journey to lifelong health. She prides herself on instilling in her clients that they can truly do all things. If she can battle with brain damage, epilepsy and amnesia and still stay HEALTHY so can you! We are raising funds for equipment and the grand opening celebration for our first facility that will be in HOMEWOOD !!! On behalf of the Excuse Free team, we want to thank you for your generous donation and pray that God blesses every gift and every giver!!
