Christmas Food Appeal

You will be aware that Carlow Lions Club over the last 30 years have been organising the Christmas Food Appeal with the Society of St Vincent de Paul.

Your donations of food at Dunnes, Raths, Super Valu and Tesco have been vital in helping us to compile over 600 hampers for distribution to the needy families in the Carlow area of SVP thanks to the cooperation of the above super markets.

Last year, due to Covid 19, we did not collect food and in its place you very kindly made your contributions by donating directly to our GoFundMe website so that we could issue food vouchers instead of food hampers to those in need of assistance. This turned out to be a huge success with the people receiving the vouchers because, as they pointed out to us, they were able to purchase the food that they would eat and not have to waste any of it as what was happening with the hampers. For that reason we have decided to go with the vouchers again for this year at least and so we ask you to support our GoFundMe campaign again this year.

All funds raised go entirely to the purchase of Food Vouchers which will be distributed by SVP Carlow.

Your generosity will make Christmas a Happy one for many families.
