Shaving My Head For A Cure!
Donation protected
As many of you know, my best friend and twin-sister in life, Beth, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Cancer was always one of our biggest fears. Unfortunately, when you find out someone you love has it, you realize how much easier it would be on you if you were diagnosed. You never want someone you love to suffer!! Unfortunately, cancer has touched both of our lives. Beth lost her mother, grandmother, grandfather and mother in-law to cancer. I have lost two grandmothers, my sister and mother in-law to cancer. Not to mention all of our other family and friends who have passed as well as survived! Cancer sucks and we need a cure NOW!! If you have not been touched personally by cancer, I promise you that you will. It is heartbreaking and scary but it is the truth!!
We could choose to just sit and wait for a diagnosis or we can get up and do something to help the millions of people who need a cure now! I choose to help find a cure! Now that cancer treatment has taken Beth's hair, I have decided that she is not doing it alone! On July 14th, Beth will be shaving my head! Yes, it is just hair but I am willing to sacrifice vanity so that we can raise money and bring awareness. With help, maybe we can get rid of cancer from ALL of our lives!!
All of the money raised will go to the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Reserch. It is an awesome foundation! Jim Valvano was the basketball coach at NC State from 1980-1990. In 1992, he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. However, before he passed away, he won the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage at ESPN's very first American Sports Awards - the ESPY's. During his acceptance speech, he announced that with ESPN, he had formed the V Foundation for Cancer Research. His speech has been replayed and quoted many times since because he was such an inspiration! If you have not heard his speech, check it out!

I ask you to donate and share this cause with everyone you know so that they can share it too! With your help, we will be closer to a cure! And, to quote Jim Valvano, Don't give up! Don't ever give up! We WILL find a cure!
