Chamber Singers go to Carnegie Hall
Donation protected
The Chamber Singers of Southeast Iowa have just been selected by Distinguished Concerts International–New York (DCINY) to perform at Carnegie Hall!
The singers will join choirs from Norway, Italy, the U.K., and the U.S. to sing the New York premiere of Kim André Arnesen’s Requiem, composed for choir and full orchestra. The concert will be the culmination of a five-day Carnegie Hall residency, including 12 hours of rehearsal, and will take place on January 16, 2017—Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We need your help to make this happen.
In the DCINY press release, artistic director Dr. Jonathan Griffith commented, “The Chamber Singers of Southeast Iowa received this invitation because of the quality and high level of musicianship demonstrated by the singers. It is quite an honor just to be invited to perform in New York. These wonderful musicians not only represent a high quality of music and education, but they also become ambassadors for the entire community. This is an event of extreme pride for everybody and deserving of the community’s recognition and support.”
Please help send the Chamber Singers to Carnegie Hall as ambassadors of Fairfield, Iowa, by supporting the cost of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The Chamber Singers greatly appreciate your generous contributions toward the huge expense of taking a choir to New York for the five day residency of this unique musical honor.
In addition to GoFundMe donations, for those who wish to make a tax-deductible gift, please contact the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center at [phone redacted], to make a restricted donation to the Chamber Singers by check or credit card. Thank you so much for your support!
