Chandie's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
My sister-in-law, Chandie Bartell, has endured some six months of chemotherapy to treat a very aggressive breast cancer. Though Chandie has completed her chemo, she still has a long road ahead of her. In January she’ll undergo a partial mastectomy. Her reward for recovering from this will be daily radiation treatments. These treatments will require a two hour drive each way every day for six weeks.
Even though they have health insurance, the costs of these treatments, the co-pays and the gas money, could very well drive them over the financial edge. Their savings are gone. Chandie’s husband, my brother Paul, worked for decades as a logger in northern Idaho until he suffered an on-the-job injury, which forced him to hang up his chain saw. After his injury, he earned a college degree and is currently a teaching assistant helping college kids better understand the stock market. Chandie was an educator also, and taught elementary school until a she could no longer perform her duties due to a disability.
They just don’t make much money and really need financial help to get through this. My goal is to raise $2,000. The breakdown is
· $500 - gas
· $300 - meals
· $1200 - co-pays
· Additional donations would help to pay for mastectomy reconstructive surgery.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will be greatly appreciated. Chandie is strong and I know she can get through this. They just need your help.
