Charlee’s Medical Bills

My Charlee girl needs your help. She is a FOUR year old frenchie wanting to live her life to the fullest.  On May 14th, Charlee suffered 3 seizures out of no where. One with me, one at the vet, and another later that evening at the hospital. She was in the hospital for one week following the episodes.

Charlee means the world to me and my family and it really breaks our heart to see her suffer like this.  She is the sweetest little girl and has such a great personality. She is always smiling and just looking at her could brighten your day. You can tell she is very confused as to what happened, but it amazes me how calm and determined she is to live a normal life. She is not giving up by any means.

The hospital ran bloodwork, X-rays, ultrasounds, bile acid, MRI and CSF tests to try to get to the bottom of the cause. All of her tests came back normal and healthy except for the MRI. Charlee was diagnosed with Necrotizing meningoencephalitis (NME). It is a inflammatory central nervous system disorder. There is no known cause of this disorder and it literally comes out of nowhere. To help her live her life to the fullest with this disorder, we have started her on a chemo treatment to help lower her overactive immune system and also on a steroid to help with the inflammation.

Aside from this, Charlee is completely healthy.  We would walk her 1-2 miles every morning. The smile and pure joy on her face and in her eyes during those walks was always my favorite. We also made sure she ate a very healthy and balanced diet (never fed people food). I am obsessed with health and nutrition so this was very important to us to raise her this way.

After the seizures, Charlee would not walk for a couple days. Brought her home from the hospital and its a completely different story. She loves being outside, she loves walking around the neighborhood and she is even running after lizards now.  She still is having trouble on her feet but you can just see how determined she is. She is the sweetest little Frenchie and it breaks my heart to see her going through this.  She is doing very well for the situation. She eats normally, loves being outside, gives kisses and still has her personality when shes feeling good.

This was completely shocking and unexpected and as you can imagine VERY costly.  We understand times are tough for everyone right now, but could really use some help with the bills.  We love our girl so much and want to do anything we can to make her time on earth happy, healthy and comfortable.

We have spent $9,500 on her medical bills so far for the care, treatments and hospital stay. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated!!

Any and all donations will be used to help pay for Charlee’s medical bills. Anything over that amount will be donated to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.
