Help Bring Charles Home for Proper Farewell

Hi everyone, I’m sharing on behalf of the Rodriguez and Chavez families for Charles Rodriguez.

After the shocking and unpredictable loss of Charles, we are devastated and left speechless. He was planning to visit his family and loved ones in California the weekend before he passed. Words cannot describe this man adequately as he was so many things.

Charles was born April 7th, 1948 in San Jose, California, he was the oldest of 6 children. Charles made sure his life was meaningful- he attended Lincoln High School in 1965 and afterwards immediately enlisted in the army, which he proudly served and represented his whole life. In 1967 he went from San Jose to Fort Riley, Kansas bearcat and after that straight to Vietnam with his 9th infantry division to fight for his country he so greatly loved. After making it home from Vietnam, Charles suffered from PTSD but was still able to maintain. In 1974 he started working for the VTA where he would spend his days driving the city bus, which he greatly enjoyed. After retiring from the VTA in 1997, he decided that his next big move would be to Albuquerque, New Mexico. His loved ones tried to talk him out of it because his family remains in California. We are asking for donations to bring our Vietnam veteran from the 9th infantry division back home to California so he can have the proper burial our hero deserves around the people that love and miss him. He is survived by his 4 daughters, 16 grandchildren, his 2 sisters/1 brother, and his nieces and nephews. Anything helps, even if it's just kind words we all appreciate it and are thankful during our time of grief. Please help the Rodriguez family bring our Vietnam veteran home.
