In Memory of Charles Yaws: Supporting his family
Donation protected
On Friday, January 10, 2025, the NWS FWD, WGRFC, and ZFW Family lost a treasured member.
Charles Yaws spent much of his life in service to his country, first through the Air Force...attaining the rank of Chief Master Sergeant of the 301st Maintenance Group...and then through the National Weather Service as an Electronics System Analyst (ESA).
As an ESA at WFO Midland and then WFO Fort Worth...he excelled. Charles dedicated himself to knowing his systems well, keeping everything running seamlessly, and sharing his knowledge with ETs...a number of whom will likely become ESAs in the future thanks to the training Charles provided.
But Charles was so much more than a co-worker to us...he was a friend. Charles made the office a happier and lighter place to be. His witty humor was always delivered at the best time...bringing a smile to many faces...and bringing some levity to even the most intense situations. His wasn't the loudest voice in the office, but it was a voice of reason and kindness...being heard when needed most. His loss has left a painful void in our lives. To put it simply: Charles was loved.
We would like to show his family how much Charles was loved and appreciated, so we have started this fund. All money collected will go to his Wife and immediate family. Thank you for your donation.
