The Childs Family

The story starts 11 years ago when Julie's husband and Connor and Brandon's dad, was diagnosed with ALS. Roger has battled this unforgiving disease relentlessly while Julie, Connor, and Brandon have been steadfast in their dedicated care and love of Roger for these 11 years.

Six months ago the family found themselves at a crossroads. A very tough decision had to be made. Julie and Roger decided it was time to move Roger to a care facility. Julie has been the wife, caretaker, mother, housekeeper, repairman, cook, chauffeur and all the while raising and caring for two growing boys. Connor, now a freshman at CU, and Brandon a freshman in high school, have grown up knowing what the result of this disease would be.

Although Roger has had disability coverage and they have had other funds to draw on for Roger's care, living expenses, and college, the family is again at a crossroads and are faced with tough decisions on how to move forward financially.
