Chloe's Medical Mission Trip to Africa
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,
I am so very blessed to say that this coming May, I will be taking a five-week medical-mission trip to Tanzania, Africa with Harding’s Carr College of Nursing. This trip is something I have dreamt of being a part of since hearing about it my freshman year of college! While in Tanzania, I'll be assisting in surgery and providing nursing care on the men’s, women’s, and children’s wards. Some of the time, we will also be teaching in the hospital and local school. Most importantly, we will be sharing the Gospel with our patients at the hospital, and encouraging the local churches.
Tanzania is home to several million wonderful people, but the life expectancy is only about 40 years of age. HIV/AIDS, Malaria, parasites, malnutrition, and other diseases are major killers in the country. Contaminated water continues to be an issue, contributing to numerous deadly diseases. Unfortunately, many of these diseases would be easily managed in the United States, but are life threatening in a developing country like Tanzania.
I have loved the mission work that I've been able to do in Mexico, and am thrilled to have the opportunity to now do medical missions in Africa. I am so looking forward to this opportunity to be a part of God’s work in meeting the physical and spiritual needs of the Tanzanian people.
I have two requests:
The first is for prayers. I really would love if you would pray for our experience there, and the patients that we will be caring for.
The second request is for a donation. Currently, each team member is required to raise approximately $4,000 to cover airfare, in-country transportation, room/board, and medicines we will be bringing, which is due in March.
If you are able, and want to help with the financial part of the work we will be doing, any donation amount would be greatly appreciated! All donations received through GoFundMe will be sent directly to my fundraising account at the International Health Care Foundation African Christian Hospitals (IHCF).
Thank you so so much for taking the time to read about this trip!It means the world to me to be surrounded by such loving and generous people who support my passion for missions.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by email!
