Medical Expenses for a Disabled Intersex Person

Hi, I'm Ci or Ciaran (He/They/Neos).

I'm a queer, trans, intersex, disabled, and neurodivergent community leader trying to get by on my own.

I have a laundry list of diagnoses including: hypermobility, asthma, sleep apnea, chronic pelvic back and neck pain, bulging discs, nerve connection issues, macromastia, and chronic fatigue. On top of my other treatments and hospital visits, my medical bills alone have racked up to $15k. I need to start making payments on some of my medical bills to continue to receive treatment. I'm currently in the process of trying to get a new wheelchair that insurance does not cover.

Medical Bills

Total - $15,674.68

Rough Estimate of Interest at 10% of total is $1,567.47

Medical Bill Total = 17,242.148

University Bill - $3580.58

Wheelchair - $2,700

Accessibility Aids - $133

Ergonomic Chair - $369

Copays rough estimate - $400

Total: $24,424.73

Then add ~$500 for gofundme costs

If possible, and we reach the main goals, $369will go towards getting an ergonomic chair to help make studying and working at my desk more accessible & less painful for me. Lastly, any money beyond that will go towards my regular living expenses and savings for top surgery in the future.

I do a lot of community work like being one of the admins for Covid-Safe CU (a mask bloc), a food distribution group, several mutual aid fundraisers and community events both online and off. I hate asking for help and have been putting this off for a while because I kept putting others first.
