In October 2013 Cindy was diagnosed with the disease that ultimately took her life. Small cell lung cancer is a very aggressive cancer that grows and spreads rapidly. The first doctor to treat Cindy for her cancer told her she had six months to live. If you know Cindy you know that she refused to accept that. She made up her mind then to fight and fight she did. She was very brave and very strong. She turned those six months into 22 months. Eventually the cancer got into the lining of her brain and spinal cord. There is no treatment for this. Sadly, Cindy lost her battle after a long fight on August 5, 2015. Most people would not have been able to make it that far but Cindy did. 

Money has been tight since mom's diagnosis. She was no longer able to work leaving my dad as the sole provider. Understandably, my dad has been very stressed durring my mother's battle. Going from a two income family to a one income family was difficult enough and then add on the extra medical expences. I would love to help take some of the financial burden off his shoulders by asking people make a donation to help pay for mom's memorial costs in lieu of flowers.

$7000 is how much it is costing my dad for the cremation, memorial service, and a memorial stone to place in the family grave yard for my mom. Even if we don't make our $7000 goal every little bit helps during this difficult time.
