Support an Italian Chef start up in Oak Park, IL

Buongiorno!

My name is Ciro Parlato and I am an Italian Chef. Throughout this campaign, I am seeking funds to support the opening of my first-ever Italian Restaurant in Oak Park, IL. With your help, I will be opening a Kitchen based on Regional Italian Cuisine because I strongly believe in the beauty of diversity. In fact, Ciro's concept stands for the representation of Italy’s various regions, from the rich and hearty flavors of Emilia-Romagna to the seafood delights of Campania. Each dish will reflect the authentic ingredients and cooking techniques of its region, ensuring a true gastronomic experience. In the near future, I plan to provide you with homemade pasta, bread and GELATO ITALIANO, as well as cooking classes.

I have been working in the Food and Hospitality industry for more than 23 years now. My passion for cooking began even before I was able to walk on my own. Because both my parents were so busy working to pay off the house mortgage, for the first 7 years of my life, I lived with my maternal grandparents. My grandmother, Anna, was an excellent home cook and the owner of a Salumeria, the authentic name for an Italian deli. I still remember her saying, "Ciro, bring me the mattarello, (the Italian word for a wood pasta roller), I have to make fresh pasta." I was just a brat at that time...
