City Critter Giving Tuesday: Help NYC Community Cats!
Tax deductible
This Giving Tuesday, we reflect on the many community cats who rely on the support of the neighborhoods where they live. These outdoor cats depend on the generosity and commitment of local residents who provide daily meals and build warm shelters to help them survive the harsh conditions.
City Critters helps support approximately 11 feeding sites in our region. of focus (Chinatown to Stuyvesant Town) and two other locations outside of Manhattan. Some have one cat, some have as many as 25 cats.
That adds up to about:
103 cans of wet food per week + 28 lbs of dry food per week
= costing about $1,000 - $1,300 per month
Added to that is the cost of winter shelters at $25 each and veterinary care to get new occupants spayed or neutered and care for sick or injured regulars.
We are lucky enough to receive large donations from local pet shops and from the public but we cannot rely on these sources to always be consistent. With light snow in the forecast this week we hope you generously give to help all of City Critters rescues but particularly our outdoor friends.
Thank you
