Claire & Nathan 2024-2025 Wedding Fundraising

Hello, we are Claire & Nathan the bride and groom to be! Children of Gary and Leigh McWilliam & Dave and Melissa Speak.

We are looking to raise money to help us pay for our 2025 wedding!

Get to know us!

Claire is a Registered Early Childhood Educator for Nanibijou Child Care Centre, while Nathan is a Custodian for the Thunder Bay Catholic School Board.

After meeting at our first job as fellow Sandwich Artists for Subway, we started an adventure we never would have expected together. We have been together for nearly 7 years now and have finally decided to make our dream wedding a reality.

In July of 2023, we made our way to Chicago, Illinois for a week to remember. We got engaged on the beautiful Navy Pier overlooking the city. Now, just under 1 year later, we have found a venue and are making preparations for the special day!

Our venue of choice is Cornerstone Theatre. A wonderful venue for our reception, alongside a beautiful ranch with a view of the great mountains of Canmore.

Wedding Costs

With choosing to have a destination wedding, it comes with a big price tag. We have agreed that the price is well worth it though, and we want to make our dream, a reality.

We have looked into pricing of a shag, and unfortunately, there is too much up front cost for us to put one together at this time. So we have decided to strictly put together donations to help us pay for the wedding.

We then were hoping to hold a set of 50/50 draws to raise money, but after speaking with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), as well as the Thunder Bay Police Department, there is unfortunately no licence you can get to make this a legal action.

So we have resorted to hosting a fundraiser on GoFundMe, as well as in person donations at multiple locations. Anything more than the donations we receive will come straight out of pocket to make our wedding happen.

What the contributions will be used for

Your donation will go towards paying for the venue, the travel to get there, as well as the stay in Canmore for the duration of time we need to be there.
